An Easter poem in a time of Novel Coronavirus
Those in the know say that you wear a crown;
Yet my own eyes have not seen.
True, you do rule the world—
at least in these days.
A reign of disruption—
not abnormal in this world.
Your cruel industry has been seen before:
in politics, pestilence, and the Dismal Science;
in wars both hot and cold.
But we fear not your reign,
your crown will not take hold.
For there is a disruption positive:
one of peace and liberty-restored.
A disruptor who brings life and light,
and wears a crown of thorns!
