Dear Ascension Folk

Please refer to the ‘Flash’ below for important parish information.

PAUL PASTORAL VISIT-Paul will be visiting one of the parishes in the archdeaconry on Sunday 28 August (this coming Sun day). Many thanks to Revd Prof Bev Haddad, who will be taking our services.

REMINDER-Please be reminded that Sunday is the date for the Nelson Mandela Marathon. this leads to inevitable road closures and disruptions. As a result of this, the vegetable sale will not take place as advertised. I am sure that the truly committed churchgoers will pitch their tents at the church on Saturday night in order to be at Sunday’s services. [A joke, before I get into hot water].

ANXIETY AND GRACE- On Sunday 11 September at 6pm at Church of the Ascension, Chris Mann will present a creative show on “Anxiety & Grace”. Grahamstown-based, Chris is an accomplished poet, singer and songwriter. You can read more about him at . There is no charge for the show, but there will be a retiring collection as a gift of thanksgiving to Chris and his wife Julia . See next flash note for more on her contribution.

ANGLICAN BEAD WORKSHOP- This event is now fully booked.

CAFE STYLE EVENINGS- In September we will have 4 Cafe-style faith evenings. These will take the form of fellowship, a 30min faith-related talk followed by a time for discussion. The dates for the four sessions are Thursdays 8, 15, 22, 29 September at 18h00. The sessions will last 1 1/2 hours. All are welcome!

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT-We still have a few tickets available for this quality conference, to be held at All Saints PMB on 28/29 October. The cost is R403.00 for both days, teas and lunches included. Please book through the church office.
