The main reason for the Welcome Desk is to dispel the view that Anglicans are distant and stand-offish. Therefore the concept of a "Church Family" is being promoted and as such, visitors and those seeking a "Spiritual Home" in which to worship are welcomed at the front door of the church by members of the "Welcome Desk Team"

 

The Welcome Desk also serves the very practical purposes of being an entry point for new people who may wish to join the Parish, or who may be visiting for a while, as well as a means of passing information to each other. The other practical purpose served, is that people cease to be just nameless faces and can, and do, become friends.

 

Should you wish to offer yourself as a member of the Welcome Desk team please either contact the office or William or Joanmary Urquhart as willing helpers would be appreciated. The duties are not onerous. At current levels one could expect to be on duty once every two months.
